Nora Days 2025

Experience the Nora Days with an art exhibition, theater performance, concert, outdoor cinema and lectures!
The Nora Days are a collaboration between the two cultural actors Fondahuset and Kunst & Kaos in Røros.
All events take place in and around the large functionalist villa “ Fondahuset ” at Konstknektveien no. 68 in Røros.
Art Exhibition: A Doll's House
Artists Elisabeth Werp, Reidun Osvik Wunderbaldinger and Ulf Nilsen show their free interpretations of Henrik Ibsen's play "A Doll's House" and the story of Nora.

Meet Bibbi Moslet during the Nora Days in Røros for a conversation with the audience under the title: "No one knows where Nora went, but traces of her are still there. About why some go and why some stay." The conversation is hosted by Siri B. Gellein.
Bibbi Moslet has worked freelance as a dramaturg at several theatres in Sweden and Norway, and has been a permanent dramaturg at Gothenburg City Theatre for several years. Moslet has also worked at Norsk Film a/s as a project developer, and has also adapted several Ibsen plays in collaboration with Stein Winge.
The event includes a closed screening of the 1973 film "A Doll's House" starring Jane Fonda as Nora. The film will be screened outdoors outside the Fonda House. The British film version of Henrik Ibsen's play "A Doll's House" was directed by Joseph Losey and also starred Edward Fox, Trevor Howard and Delphine Seyrig.
The film was shot in Røros and Jane Fonda lived in "Fondahuset" during filming. Outdoor cinema is organized in collaboration with Røros cinema.

The tarantella is an Italian folk dance in fast 6/8 time. The story goes that it was danced to get rid of the venom and relieve the pain of a tarantula spider bite.
Is Nora dancing to get rid of the poison in her marriage?

Welcome to a concert with Tor Espen Aspaas (piano) and Kjersti Rydsaa (cello) during the Nora Days in Fondahuset!
Doors open at 6:00 PM. Enjoy a drink at the bar and the art exhibition "A Doll's House" with artists Elisabeth Werp, Reidun Osvik Wunderbaldinger and Ulf Nilsen before the concert starts.
The concert is built around Sergei Rachmaninov's gigantic sonata for cello and piano, opus 19 (1901). Two equally matched instruments build together large musical structures, where the overarching musical ideas demand everything from the musicians. The sonata is in four movements, where the second movement is an ominous, intense tarantella. There will also be examples of other music in driving 6/8 rhythms.

IBSEN WOMEN explores six of Henrik Ibsen's female characters. Over the course of one hour, we follow Juni Dahr's encounter with Hilde, Hedda, Mrs. Alving, Nora, Ellida and Hjørdis. Henrik Ibsen's texts are tied together by the actor's own personal reflections and thoughts about women's strength and vulnerability - and the underlying theme in Ibsen's dramas: the longing for freedom.
