Swallow band in the Fondahuset

On Friday, October 10, there will be languid rhythms and delicious tones in Fondahuset in Røros when Siri's Swallow Band holds a concert.

Svaleband is on its autumn tour and is visiting Røros and Fondahuset for an intimate concert.

Only a few places.

Siri's Svale Band (Siri Gellein, John Pål Inderberg, Bjørn Alterhaug, Celio Barros, Carl Haakon Waadeland) was established 36 years ago, and had its breakthrough as the Norwegian main attraction at the Molde Jazz Festival in 1989.

The band has toured Norway and Europe, and released three CDs: ”Blackbird” (1990), ”Necessarily So…” (1997), ”Sval E Afinado” (2018). The band’s name refers to “sval” in the meaning of “cool”, and our musical references are cool-jazz, where they create a special sound with two bassists, vocals, baritone saxophone and drums.

Now they are on tour again, and we are looking forward to an intimate concert at Fondahuset.

The repertoire is taken from the band's three CDs, and consists of new original arrangements of jazz standards mixed with compositions by the band members.
